Waikiki Burgers

These delicious Waikiki Burgers are a tasty twist on a traditional teriyaki burger which I first enjoyed when Sheri and I lived in Hawaii in the mid-1990’s.  They were the star of our Hawaiian themed Mother’s Day BBQ last Sunday.  We served them along with our tropical seafood pasta salad, fresh fruit and our cool and creamy No-Bake Lemon Cheesecake Pie.  It was a fun way to kick off the summer BBQ season!

Finely diced green peppers and onions are added to ground beef along with soy sauce and crushed pineapple to make the burgers extra juicy.

Grilled pineapple and pepper rings top each of the burgers.  We used green and orange peppers but red peppers would work, too!

These burgers are best when you use toasted Hawaiian hamburger buns!

The final step to making these burgers extra special is using a creamy pineapple and soy sauce spread on the buns.  There’s no need for ketchup when you have this yummy topping!

  1. That sounds yummy! My friends and I were just talking about how wonderful grilled pineapple tasted especially when mixed with burger & chicken. Pinned.

  2. Now that is a burger that I can sink my teeth into. I love the pineapple and green peppers. The only thing better is if I were actually in Hawaii to eat it! Thank you for sharing at This is How We Roll link party.

We'd love to hear from you!
